Mike Perez vs Alexander Povetkin Fight Replay

Mike Perez was down in the 1st round at 1:15

Yesterday we witnessed one of the fastest knock outs in the boxing history.
Alexander Povetkin destroyed Mike Perez yesterday in Moscow to get a mandatory challenger spot to the coveted Deontay Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title. He stopped the Cuban fighter in just 91 seconds.

Povetkin (29-1, 21 KO) got Perez with a right hand in just 30 minutes after the whistle was blown. After this blow, Perez never recovered. After recovering from that shot that hurt him, Perez got close to Povetkin, trying very hard to land a hurting punch, but Povetkin spun him around and caught him off guard with a very clean right hand that so him dropped again.

The fight was virtually over but the referee decide to ignore the fact that Pirez was in a bad condition, he was nit responding,he tried to get back on his feet and continue the struggle.
Had Povetkin given Perez time to walk, he would have definitelyWladimir Klitschko in October 2013,Wladimir Klitschko in October 2013, noticed Perez did not have any fight left in him. Instead, he decided to finish things quickly and moved in and finished the fight with another knockout. This was very easy since the only thing that was keeping Pirez on his feet was only instinct.
This fight ostensibly gives Povetkin a chance to take a shot at Wilder’s WBC Heavyweight title. Wilder has a clean record of (33-0, 32 KO) and will be making a home defence against who will make a homecoming defence against Eric Molina on June 13 in Alabama. This comes after beating Bermane Stiverne and winning the WBC.

The fight will be very interesting. The two fighters are very skilled with great talent. Povetkin has only one loss in his entire professional career. This was to Wladimir Klitschko in October 2013. Since then, he has managed to win 3 consecutive fights, all by knockouts. He has got the skill, the power and experience lacking in Wilder.

The chances of the fight happening in USA are very slim. Since this fight goes to purse bid, it will be even harder to get Povetkin to go to the united states for the fight. He has the biggest financial backing in the entire boxing world. His financial backing exceeds that of Al Haymon and his team. Because of this Weilder will have to adhere to Povetkin’s demands, he will control the fight in and outside the ring. With all that, lets just wait and see, its just a few months to come.
