The fight is very controversial because referee misses 4 knockdowns which resulted to a split decision loss of Filipino fighter Randy Petalcorin

One judge scored the contest 114-113 for Petalcorin, while the other two had it 115-112 for Kimweri. Referee Malcolm Bulner really did a bad job here as he failed to credit Petalcorin the knockdowns that he scored which could gave the Filipino the well deserved win.

World Boxing Council (WBC) is set to investigate this controversial championship fight
