Jason Pagara vs Ramiro Alcaraz Fight Replay

The Dubai World Trade Center was on Friday night-the seventh of august the host of another thrilling session of boxing bouts. This was the 32nd edition of the Pinoy Pride and in action were the Pagara brothers from the Philippines. On this night, the younger Albert “the prince” Pagara was to open the curtains while Jason “El Nino” Pagara was meant to close them. Although the Pagara brothers recorded wins, it was Jason Pagara vs Ramiro Alcaraz’s match that had much to tweet about.

Having both made weights earlier in the day, Alcaraz-the Mexican, was only a shade heavier than his Filipino opponent at 142.6 against 142.4. It was a matter of hours before we knew who was who in the ring and literally, the time flew because it was soon time for the match. In the supposedly 10-round match, it took a battered Pagara the assistance of the ring Physician and the judges to emerge victorious after a grueling eight rounds.
Early in the first round, Pagara took a cut from an accidental headbutt that saw Alcaraz penalized.
Although, a bloodied Pagara was able to make a few glancing shots, Alcaraz was able to duck a number of punches. Alcaraz was at it again in the sixth round when he was deducted a point for punching Pagara after the bell had rung. It was not until the eighth round that a bloodied Pagara was rescued by the physician after another nasty headbutt by Alcaraz. This caused the doctor to opt for the scorecards where Pagara won by a unanimous technical decision of 77-73, 76-74, and 78-72.

Conclusion
Jason, the current WBO international super lightrweight champion will now likely face Rusmin Raha, or Cesar Chavez for an IBF or WBO title bout. However, this will depend on the agreements made by their promoters. From the look of things, it is likely we are going to see more of the 27-year old who has only lost twice in 38 competitive bouts that he has participated.
