Billy Saunders Claims WBO World Middleweight Belt

Billy Saunders was awarded a majority decision victory by the judges so as to stretch his unbeaten record to 23-0-KO12.

Lee, who is known as defending champion, had been last year’s winner after knocking Matt Korobov. However, this time he was instead knocked down by younger Saunders twice in the third round.

A judge among three of them have equal points to both of them. However the other two gave points more to Saunders. This led to victory of the British fighter.
The bout began in doubtful fashion and there was no major accident in the first two rounds.

The third round as pivotal saw Lee connecting firm straight left. This offended Saunders who punched with hard right hook that knocked down the 31 year old Lee to floor.
