WBC World Light Heavyweight Champion Adonis Stevenson defends his title against Andrzej Fonfara in a rematch in the first fight Stevenson defeated Fonfara via 12 round unanimous decision Fonfara went down twice in that fight but he was also able to put down Stevenson once.
In the rematch Adonis Stevenson promised to knock out Andrzej Fonfara just in the very first round Adonis Stevonson started to land these power left to the head of Fonfara with 1 minute and 34 seconds left in the round Adonis Stevenson landed a counter left hand that stunned Fonfara followed by left and right from Stevenson and down goes Fonfara for the first time in the fight Fonfara was able to beat the count Stevenson went on for the finish with sharp left followed by combination while Fonfara was on the ropes Andrezej barely survived the round.
In round two Stenson Sensing that Fonfara was still hurt from his previous attack in the first round Superman continue to attack Fonfara with sniper like left shots to the head and body then Fonfara’s corner have seen enough beating and stopped the fight.
Andrzej Fonfara was knocked out last year by Joe Smith in the very first round but he was able bounce back and win via Knock out against former champion Chad Dawson last March.
Adonis Stevenson last year stopped Thomas Williams Jr and continue to win by stoppage this year everybody asking when will Stevenson step-up in the competition and fight the biggest name in the light heavyweight like Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward.
Who’s next for Adonis Stevenson
Eleider Alvarez is the mandatory challenger for Adonis Stevenson’s WBC World Light Heavyweight title but the most appealing fight for him is the winner of Sergey Kovalev vs Andre Ward Rematch on June 17, 2017 whoever wins its going to be a winner take all fight all light heavyweight titles are on the line for that possible unification fight later this year. But if Stevenson decided to fight his mandatory challenger its another easy win for the Superman.
