Roman Gonzalez vs Edgar Sosa Official Weigh In
The fly weight world Champion Roman Gonzalez is one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world, he has no exposure in united states. But this is about to change.
Gonzalez is a former strawweight and junior fly weight title holder. He will meet the former Flyweight title holder Edgar Sosa on tomorrow nigh to defend his title. The fight will be held at the The Forum Inglewood ,California. this fight will be co-featured on the HBO telecast that will be headlined by the knockout king Gennady Golovkin vs Willie Monroe.
Gonzalez has been fighting regularly in Japan, Mexuco his home country Nicaragua. At home, he is the most significant fighter after his mentor Alexis Arguello. Though this is the fourth time to fight at the united states, it is his first fight at the HBO.
The 27 year old Gonzalez has so far made 3 defences of his Strawweight title during his 2008-2010 reing. After this, he moved up in weight . He got a shot at the flyweight title and went ahead to Japan and knocked out Akira Yaegashi in the 9th round. He also went ahead to win the 112-pound world championship.. In November, Gonzalez defended his title again, still in Japan against Rocky Fauentes and knocked him down in the sixth round.
Sosa is tough competition against Gonzalez. At 35, the Mexican has won two fights in a row. The last time he lost was way back in December 2013, a decision lose to Yaegeshi. The same Yangeshi was knocked out by Gonzalez.
This fight will be very entertaining. Two fighter, each fighting for domination. I see Gonzalez winning this fight, not with a decision but with a classic knock out. Although Sosa is more experienced, he should be warry of the faster, younger and stronger Gonzalez.
Gonzalex has a fighting style tht is very similar to that of Gennady. He packs a very destructive punch. For sosa to win this fight, he may be required to have a trick or two up his sleeves. Tomorrow we should expect knockouts at the The Forum Inglewood. One form Gennady and another one from Gonzalez.
