Miguel Cotto vs Daniel Geale Weigh In Result
Miguel Cotto: 153.6 Lbs
Daniel Geale: 157 Lbs
On June 6, 2015 at the Barclay’s center HBO at 10.30 PM ET/PT Puerto Rican superstar and lineal middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will defend his WBO championships against Daniel Geale. Cotto will be defending his WBC middle weight championship and Ring Magazine world championship.
Geale is a two time world champion with an impressive record of 31 win wins, 3 loses and 16 knockouts. Geale is an experienced world class champion even though most fans believe that he is way below Cotto’s standards. This fight is a catch weight of 157 pounds, but don’t be surprised if Cotto is not a pound or two below. Cotto is a former light welter weight champion but still small for this division.
Geale is not the tallest, longest or even the toughest fighter that Cotto has faced in his career. He has fought some big boxing names like Antonio Margarito, Floyd Mayweather and so on. This is a good comeback fight for the Puerto Rican who has been away from the ring for nearly one year now.
Geale comes to this fight after suffering a humiliating and violent knockout from no other but the knockout artist Gennady. This was less than a year ago. Many fans feel that he is not in a position to fight against Cotto who is one of the best fighters of his generation. Cotto has an impressive resume. He is the first four-division champion Puerto Rico has ever produced. He has sold more tickets in Madison Squire than any other fighter in this century.
On Saturday night, it will be Cotto’s first debut at the Barclay’s center. This fight will be very tough. Though many see Cotto having a smooth ride, i certainly disagree with this. The knockout Geale suffered in the hands of Gennady will be a great motivator for this fighter. He will be fighting to prove the critics who have said that he is not worthy to contest fr cotto’s belts.
The fight is difficult to predict Cotto is a tough fighter, but we have not seen him in action since last year. Geale on the other hand has been giving excellent results. If Cotto thinks that this will be a easy fight , he s very mistaken. He will sweat it out in the ring. Though he will win it will be on a decsion but not on a knockout as many expect.
