Undefeated Heavyweight Knock Out Artist Efe Ajagba Knock Out Highlights Is he the next Deontay Wilder? I watched a 30 sec knockout performance from this young prospect Efe Ajagba. It was kind of reminiscent of the first time I watched Deontay Wilder. Maybe not as fast as Wilder, maybe not as explosive but very similar. What do you think? Leave some comments on this dude if you have any or any boxing related info.
Heavyweight Efe Ajagba scored a highlight reel knockout of Dell Long on his last fight at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi to run his record to 5-0 (5 KO’s).
One punch from Ajagba sent Long down and out – for quite some time.
This bout was part of the FS1 broadcast and for many it was the first look at the 24-year old Nigerian, who was signed to a promotional deal by Ringstar Sports as he turned pro last year.
This last outing has Richard Schaefer excited about this boxers future.
“I talked to Al (Haymon) afterwards about him. He’s managed by Shelly Finkel – Shelly and Al work closely together with Deontay Wilder – another reporter told me recently that they haven’t seen Shelly as excited about a fighter as they have been with Efe Ajagba. Shelly has a good eye for heavyweights, so he thinks very highly of him.”
Ajagba represented his country in the 2016 Olympics.
“He’s the one who won the knockout of the Olympics, of all the weight classes at the Rio Olympics,” Schaefer pointed.
“So with Ronnie Shields he has a great trainer, he feels very comfortable in Houston (Texas). He’s from Nigeria, same background as Anthony Joshua. The largest Nigerian population outside of Nigeria is in Houston so he feels very good there.”
Schaefer believes that he has three of the best heavyweight prospects in the world with Joe Joyce, Tony Yoka and Ajagba.
“I mentioned to Al we really need to show (Ajagba) more. He needs to be on more of those spots (on television),” said Schaefer, who said that clips of his most recent KO went viral on social media.
“These are the kind of guys to focus on, we’re very excited about him.”
