The 26 year old contender from Bago City, Negros Occidental, Philippines is coming a 10 round Unanimous Decision lost against Mcjoe Arroyo last July 18, 2015. Comes back with a Split Decision win against Victor Mendez from from Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico.
The fight is entertaining but King Arthur lands the harder and cleaner punch all throughout the fight, Victor Mendez has his moments but Villanue never allowed Victor to gain advantage and confidence. At some point in the fight both fighters where able to hurt each other.
In my opinion the fight should be a Unanimous Decision win for Villanueva instead of Split Decision which one judge Humberto Olivares 113-115 favored his countryman.
